Just in case you couldn’t tell by now, I’m mostly winging this year’s challenge. Some of my ideas are like yesterday’s, skating on thin ice (think errands too). But if winging it is going to get me through, I’ll take it.
How about a little Jazz date? While hubby and I are more into rock and roll, we did go to a Jazz concert once. To be honest, I couldn’t tell you who was playing but we look like we’re having fun, don’t we? Yes, even though we live in 49-er territory the Dallas Cowboys are our favorite football team. Hubby’s been a fan for his entire life. I’ve said that baseball is my game but I do like the Cowboy uniforms. Something about that blue star.
Putting together jigsaw puzzles could be another fun date night. You don’t always have to go out to be on a date. They even have them online now so you don’t have to figure out what to do with it when it’s finished!
And then perhaps a date on a jet ski. I found this one that goes from Long Beach to Catalina Island, somewhere I’ve always wanted to go. Doesn’t it look like fun? Unfortunately we’ll probably have to find another way to get to Catalina because the disclaimer on the jet ski’s about health conditions prohibit my hubby from engaging.
Okay. Made it through J. See you tomorrow!

Hi, Janet!
ReplyDeleteHappy J-Day, dear friend!
I've been to a few jazz concerts in my life, but they were local musicians and not famous ones. It was brave of you to wear a Cowboys camp in enemy territory. Are you saying that you are primarily a Cowboys fan because of the way their unforms are designed?
This just in. Final score, 49ers: 76 - 76ers: 49. :)
I should have known somebody would eventually come up with online jigsaw puzzles. I never knew they exist until now. Thanks for linking to that site. I will probably try to put one together just for the fun of it.
Do you remember the hit record ""26 Miles (Santa Catalina)" by The Four Preps, a #2 charting hit in March, 1958? The song refers to Santa Catalina Island. I looked it up and discovered that the actual distance from Long Beach to "the island of romance" is 29 miles. That's quite a long trip on a jet ski, and I can see why they do health screenings before allowing people to attempt such an adventure. I do hope you and your hubby can visit Catalina Island in the near future and take pictures to post here at Janet's Smiles.
I've got a new post up and running at Shady's Place this week if you have time to stop by. Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, dear friend Janet, and I'll be back to see you tomorrow on K-Day!
Hi there friend! I have heard that song and it pops in my head every time I hear the word Catalina. (Which by the way is the operating system on my Mac right now because I haven't updated yet). I may try the online puzzle too, just because.
DeleteI do like smooth jazz but in my heart I'm a rocker girl. I was going to check on you later today. I wonder why the notices have stopped coming again? Thank you for your devotion to my rambles. I truly appreciate it.
Ha I'm winging it too. Jazz and jigsaws I can do but no way are you getting me on a jet ski.
ReplyDeleteWell, honestly I think I might enjoy the jet ski with someone else driving it, and by someone else I mean an experienced person.
DeleteYou're doing a thumbs-up job of winging it Janet. I'm a fan of jazz and jigsaws, but you won't get me on board (ha!) with a jet ski.
ReplyDeleteLOL like how you did that, Deborah. I would like to see Catalina though.
DeleteI am so far behind. I plan to read your posts from the beginning. I like doing online jigsaw puzzles because, I always liked puzzles. I have been to a jazz event which was quite fun especially since it was at a Winery.
ReplyDeleteHi Birgit! Sorry I am just getting back to you. I didn't get a notice of your comment. I have seen some of the puzzles online and they do look like fun!
DeleteMy husband and I aren't fans of jazz, but jigsaw puzzles... count us in! I recently framed a beautiful one we completed of the Amalfi coast (Italy) and it hangs in the entry of our bedroom.
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet that puzzle is beautiful, Trudy. That's a good way to deal with a finished puzzle.
