Last year my word was dance and I am not sure that it served me well. I think it was too loose and frivolous. I mean, I had it in mind to dance my way through the year, making everything easy and relaxed but my life turned anything but easy and relaxing. I realized I needed a more action driven word for this year if I want to get things in my life back on track.
One of the ways I use to keep the word in my mind is by putting a quote in this locket that I wear. I am still searching for the perfect one, although "No one can drive us crazy unless we give them the keys" is a possibility.
Another way is to post pictures of things that will remind me of the word around my house and the studio.
It helps to know that I have been in control in the past so there's no reason why I can't do it again.
One more way is with my daily planner. I ordered one this year from Plum Paper and I customized the sections to include things I wanted.

So far I've been pretty good about filling out each section, but it is only January so we'll see.

Thanks for the prompt. I like your planner - great that you could customise it. Might check that out. I have a similar thing but it's just a standard format but it's working well so far. How long does it take to form a habit? lol
ReplyDeleteGood question, Wendy! I really like this company and this is the first year they made the daily planner. Last year I had a weekly one but I like the room in the daily. Planners are so personal, you know?
DeleteGreat word Janet - and definitely much more powerful than "Dance" - although I quite like the idea of dancing through life too! Loved all the retro photos (and that red car looks pretty speedy!) I hope you find your perfect quote to keep with you - or maybe you should create your own?
