A to Z Challenge - 2019 - Y is for YouTube

Happy Monday!  We have the last two letters in the 10th Anniversary A to Z Challenge this week.   I am so happy that I have made it this far with no complications.  I was so involved with getting the Studio together in March that I had almost no time to prep for the A to Z and yet I managed to meet all the deadlines and have relatively (I hope) interesting offerings for each letter.

For the letter "Y" I am presenting a YouTube video walk through the new studio!  I have been wanting to try my hand at making some how-to videos.  I thought that starting with a tour of the studio would be fun.  I hope you think so too!

I left out some things I wanted to say and I'm sure I fumbled a bit but for a first attempt I think it is okay.  In case you want to see some of the companies I mention, I am linking them here:

The shed was made by The Shed Shop in Hayward, California.

The ScrapBox was made by The Original ScrapBox Company.

The binders are from Totally Tiffany.

I hope you liked my video tour.  Do you think I could do more of them?  Have something you'd like me to demonstrate?  My niece said she wants to see more about the Junk Journal I mentioned so maybe that will be the next video.  Love any feedback.  Hope I didn't scare you away and that you'll come back tomorrow for the big finale!

  1. What a fabulous idea to do a youtube studio tour Janet. It's always such a delight seeing where folks work, and it was great to hear your voice as well. How perfect that you've got the exact set up you wanted, and you're creative self can thrive in your new space.

    1. Thanks Deborah. It's funny, I tried one with me talking into the camera at first and I didn't like the way I look when I talk! Odd because I've never really seen myself talk before like that. Anyway, the sound of my voice was okay so I kept going. Now that the A to Z is done I think I can start making more and more in the studio and I'm excited!

  2. Thanks for sharing the video of your creative space. I love the shelving with all the cubbies!! Where did you find those?

    1. The big cabinet that I talk about in the beginning is from The Original ScrapBox. Mine is one of the original lines that I was able to get on sale. They now make a newer model that has plastic cubbie inserts instead of cloth ones. There's a link to the company above and on the YouTube description. They are a great company to work with.

    2. I am having lots of DUH moments today. I overlooked the link because I didn't connect their name--ScrapBox--to shelves and cubbies. Those are amazing!

    3. LOL I think it's because the piece of furniture is called a WorkBox (or my version is anyway) but the company is the Original ScrapBox. There is also a Totally Tiffany product called a ScrapRack and sometimes I get tongue tied between the two!

  3. Thanks for the tour. You sounded great although I had to put my volume up quite high to be able to hear you. Just a thought? I didn't notice a fire extinguisher anywhere. With all that paper and other combustibles might it be a good investment?

    1. Good point, Wendy. I do burn a candle in there so I'll have to get one. Thanks for the info about the sound. I'll have to turn my volume up on my phone when I record.
