I have been wanting to make an Abecedarium for a while now and I just read on Deborah Weber's blog about the April Blogging Challenge that she participates in each year and I decided to put my feet in the water and try it myself.
Today we are asked to reveal what our Abecedarium is going to be about and I have chosen Music for my theme. Our concert season is rapidly approaching and we already have tickets to five performances and are seriously contemplating buying season tickets at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California for this year. It is one of our most favorite venues and the seats they are offering us are pretty good. Plus, there are added perks (of course) to being season ticket holders (free VIP parking for one). My husband and I have worked hard for a lot of years and I think it is about time we reward ourselves just a bit. Of course, we may not be able to buy groceries for a while but one of the other perks at the Winery is free hors d'oeuvre's so as long as we go to the concerts, we won't starve!
This is the Seventh Annual A to Z challenge and there are lots (I mean hundreds!) of participants. I am looking forward to reading some new blogs and interested to see if anyone else takes on the Music theme. Of course I'll be on the lookout for craft/scrapbooking related ones as well!
I hope you follow along with me and I'd love to hear your comments on my musical alphabet!
I'm delighted you're going to play along this year Janet! How fun you have a season of concerts to attend and that you'll be writing about music. Looking forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deborah! I remember your Fool one from last year!
DeleteWelcome to the challenge Janet. Your musical theme will be wonderful and I love your use of the word Abecedarium. Stoping by from the Theme Reveal list. Hope you will stop by and say hello...I think you will enjoy my theme as a scrapbooker and crafter.

Thanks Sue! I will be following you as well.
DeleteDefinitely going to be following along on your theme :) Love wine and always like to check out wineries (and if they throw in free food and a concert, even it you have to pay for tickets, that's even better :) I also do transcription at home :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Thanks Betty! The Mountain Winery is a great venue. Only about 2500 total seats so it is very intimate, compared to the arena types. Always nice to meet another transcriptionist. What kind of work do you do? Mine is primarily medical.
DeleteWelcome to the A-Z! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon!
Deleteglad you are joining the band...of A to Z crazy. Music should be fun. The heck with groceries - music fills the soul. I look forward to your posts
ReplyDeleteThanks, Joanne! My older sister's name is Jo Anne (named for my mom, Josephine and her twin sister Antoinette). She passed away several years ago yet every time I see the name pop up, I think she is saying hello to me! Looking forward to reading your wacky words!
DeleteMusic is always a good topic. See you next month!

DeleteMusic is an excellent choice!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex! I am kind of excited to try this challenge.
DeleteBuy those tickets - you won't regret it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for popping by my blog - I agree with Alex, music is an excellent choice for a theme.
Hi Tami! I think we are going to wait on the season tickets but definitely going to get to four or five shows there this year. Maybe season ones next year.
DeleteLooking forward to your month worth of music posts!! This is my first year joining the challenge, check mine out at: Here's my post on A-Z challenge: http://lilydaily.com/a-to-z-challenge-theme-reveal-2016/ Going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Lily! Let's hope we both make it through the month! I've marked your blog as one to follow also.
DeleteMusic themes occur, but each is a little different and they all usually prove very popular, as who doesn't like music. My theme last year was Musical Memories about the memories certain songs provoke in me.
ReplyDeleteRevisit the Tender Years with me during the #AtoZChallenge at Life & Faith in Caneyhead!
Hi Barbara! I love the idea of memories that songs bring! So many come to my mind but I am not sure I would have been able to do an alphabet about them. I'll have to check out your site to find it. I am looking forward to following you this year.
DeleteWow interesting theme. I will be back ok?
