Muddling Through March – 2022 – Ready?

The A to Z is set to start next week and I am not even close to being ready. I have my topic and some vague ideas of what I’m going to talk about but usually by this time I at least have the drafts for each letter and a few pictures uploaded. This year…nada. I’ve decided that today I’m going to at least get all 26 drafts started and hopefully A and B done.

What’s the holdup this year? I’m not 100% sure. Perhaps I’m over complicating the theme. I mean, thinking of activities to do on dates should be easy, right? I even have a list of ideas I was going to choose from. Maybe it’s because I wanted my husband and I to actually go on these dates so I’d have pictures and I know that’s not happening with the time we have left. Maybe it’s that I wanted to do more research. Maybe it’s because I’ve been busy with actual typing work and making money takes priority over playing on the internet. I even gave a half-second thought to changing the theme but a) I don’t know what to change it to unless I do more of my concert album and that requires A LOT of time and b) I got a lot of positive responses from my faithful followers that they were looking forward to my take on the subject and I hate to disappoint. So, today is draft day. Maybe once I get them started I’ll be more inspired.

Speaking of inspiration, let me leave with a few of the things I’ve been working on for the Etsy Shop. Truthfully, these were done before the last show I did and I just didn’t have time to put them up until the other day.

Can you tell I really love the exploding boxes? I have some papers picked out for a couple of Mother’s Day ones. I also love working with the Creative Memories card kits. Being a consultant helps with that.

Anyway, there we are. How far are you with your A to Z progress? Shall we take bets to see if I can make it?

  1. Hi, Janet!

I feel you, dear friend, but please don't put yourself under pressure. You got it right when you referred to these month long blog hops and challenges as "playing on the internet," because they really are. They must not interfere with important matters IRL such as earning money. Your faithful friends will love and support you no matter what you pick as an A to Z theme, if you need to skip days or even if you drop out of the challenge altogether. Maintaining a genuine, lasting friendship with you is all that matters to me.

As far as I'm concerned, you could pick "Exploding Boxes" as not only the "E" topic of the A to Z, but you could use variou types and colors of exploding boxes as your theme for the entire month. That's how much the darn things fascinate me. I love these closeup videos and pictures of the boxes and cards. The teal, magenta, green, rose and gold color combinations are so very tasteful, exactly the range of shades I prefer to see around me in my living space.

Please give my buddy Benny a hug and have a happy week, dear friend Janet. I'll see you Friday, April 1, if not before!

    1. Thanks for the love my friend. So glad to know you won't think less of me if I can't quite make it to the finish line. Since I posted this I have in fact added all the drafts for the letters so I am feeling a little better about it. I, too, am fascinated with my boxes and I know how they're done - LOL Benny and I just got back from our walk and he is still rambunctious so we played a little catch in the front yard. I forgot to mention him as one of my "excuses" for not getting things done but he certainly is.

  2. I've never done the A to Z but I'm always happy to check and read the entries. Love those crafts! I wish I'm as talented...or patient to make one.

You know, I've got a long list of to-dos and it can get frustrating when I don't get to tick them all off. But just breathe and take it easy. Be kind and generous with yourself. And celebrate small victories.

  3. I love the one that has the blank pages. Is it like a photo album/mini scrapbook? If so, I need to check out your Etsy site because I might need a few of those!

    1. Hi Lisa! The exploding boxes can be used as a scrapbook or mini album. Both of them have spots for pictures and journaling. I can make them in any theme or color you'd like and decorate them as much or as little as you'd like. Do check out the Etsy shop and leave me a message if you want me to make something for you that you don't see there!

  4. Oh you made me feel better about how far behind I am in my A-Z prep until I read you'd got all your drafts done lol. I will definitely be winging it but hopefully will have at least the first week's posts done by tomorrow as we're away next week! This year might be a monumental fail.
