June is Just So…

Exciting! So far this month I have a new car, we celebrated 25 years in our house, our state has “opened up” again and I finished two shawls and a scarf. I sold two of the Father’s Day cards I just made and two special order school days albums.

Most exciting of all, the Mountain Winery opened up their season and I got tickets for four shows! We are going to see Chris Isaak, The Fab Four, Chicago and Tower of Power! SO happy to be able to go to concerts again. More memories for the scrapbook! Plus, that keeps my loyalty status going for another year.

Life is good in my neck of the woods. How about you?

  1. Hi, Janet!

I'm delighted to learn that some of your favorite area venues are opening back up, dear friend. After all those months under lockdown, the old normal now seems absolutely terrific, doesn't it? I'm also happy that you had the satisfaction of finishing those crocheted items and that you sold a couple of Father's Day cards. I like how they are designed. While I'm thinking about it, I recently learned about Zazzle, the online store where people sell cards and related items. Can you give me your impression of Zazzle and tell me how it differs from Etsy? Have you ever used the site as a buyer or a seller?

I still can't get over how pretty your new car is! Nothing beats "that new car smell," right? I know you and your hubby are thrilled to be able to plan visits to the Winery. You wasted no time obtaining tix for four different concerts. I'd love to see The Fab Four and Chicago. I'm sure you will post reviews of all those shows.

Here in Central Florida we are celebrating the recent rains that put a dent in the serious drought we're experiencing. Mrs. Shady and I are planning to visit our favorite restaurant next week. It will be our first indoor dining experience in nearly a year.

Thanks for the updates, dear friend Janet, and enjoy the rest of your week!

    1. Hey friend Shady! Nice to hear that the rains came for you. We are about to have a heat wave - LOL. We are really looking forward to the concerts, although they won't be starting until late August. You bet I will post my pictures!

I have never heard of Zazzle so I took a look at the site and right off the bat it looks like they charge more to sell on their platform than Etsy does (Zazzle is 30%, Etsy is 5%). It appears that the items on Zazzle are all offered to be personalized while Etsy has more ready made items. I didn't go too much further than that. If I was going to try a different platform I might try Shopify, which I think is more like Etsy. You try to stay dry and I'll try to stay cool. Have a great dinner out with the Mrs.!

  2. Love your creations! I can't knit or crochet if my life depended on it. I love the car and my favourote colour-blue! Congrats to being in your home for 25 years! I love your father's Day card which looks intricate to me. Your scrapbook pages are really nicely done. I saw The Fab 4 many years ago...they are excellent! Chris Isaac would be fun to see but..wow to the outfit he is wearing. I wonder if he got little cuts all over. Are those solar lights? They are pretty cool!

    1. Hi Birgit: I think they were tiny mirrors on his outfit. It was quite spectacular. I'm wondering if it is really heavy. Thanks for the compliments on my work! I really appreciate it.

  3. Sounds like you're having a great month. Love the color of your new car. Our state is fully opening on June. I'm moving a little slower at returning to normal life, but I'm moving in that direction.

    1. Yes, we are going slowly too. Still wearing masks in certain places. I was so tired of seeing white, black and gray that when he showed me the blue one I had to take it.
