December Reflections - 2019 - Thank you

The prompt for today is "Thank you for..." and I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you all for reading and commenting on my posts this year.  Between my Blogger site and the WordPress edition I've had over 3000 comments, likes and views and about 200 followers.  Not that the numbers really matter, it just surprises me that so many people not related to me actually take an interest in what I have to say.  In fact, the people who ARE related to me don't even take that much interest - LOL.

I'd also like to thank:

Linda G. Hill for her fun challenges:  Just Jot It January, The Escapist Coloring Club, One Liner Wednesday and Stream of Consciousness Saturday.  I know that it takes a lot to keep these going strong year after year and I appreciate the opportunity to play along.

Jim Adams for continuing the Song Lyric Sunday musical roundup.  It is such fun to hear everyone's different picks each week.

Arlee Bird, John Holton and the rest of the A to Z Challenge team.  I'm starting to worry if I'll be able to come up with something fun this year.  I have no clue yet.

James J. Cudney, IV for his continued support of my blog AND my Etsy Shop.

Susannah Conway for her wonderful prompts in April (April Love - which I actually haven't been doing since I started the A to Z), August Break and December Reflections.

Mary at Jingle, Jangle, Jungle for the Rocktober Music Fest.  I participated this year for the first time and it was fun.

I know that it is easier for me to write when I have the prompts and inspiration from these great folks and I know I get more views when I link up with them.

Thanks again to all of you for visiting me!  Looking forward to more fun next year.  2020 is so much easier to type than 2019 don't you think?

June in Janet's World - Song Lyric Sunday - Who, What, When, Where

Jim Adams has chosen the good reporter's questions, Who, What, When, Where, Why and How as our theme for today.  So many possibilities!

This reminds me of when we were raising the kids.  If they wanted to go somewhere with their friends, we always told them not to bother asking us if they couldn't answer the questions:  Who were they going with?   What were they going to do?    When were they going to be home?  Where were they going?  How were they getting there?  The Why was kind of obvious - to get away from their parents who asked too many questions - LOL.

I wanted to use a song by Adele off her "25" album, "Why Do You Love Me?" but it seems there is no video for it.  It was a bonus track on that album, available only if you bought it from Target.  It is a really catchy tune and if you get a chance you should try and have a listen somewhere.

So I decided to go with "Where Or When" written by Rogers and Hart, as sung by Rod Stewart on his "As Time Goes By" album.  He did a series of oldies called "The Great American Songbook" and this is on Volume II.  Quite a departure from his normal rock.  We've seen Rod a couple of times and I always have to check the setlist before my husband will go because this style is not his cup of tea.

Where or When
It seems we stood and talked like this before
We looked at each other in the same way then
But I can't remember where or when
The clothes you're wearing are the clothes you wore
The smile you are smiling you were smiling then
But I can't remember where or when
Some things that happened for the first time
Seem to be happening again
And so it seems that we have met before
And laughed before, and loved before
But who knows where or when
Some things that happened for the first time
Seem to be happening again
And so it seems that we have met before
And laughed before, and loved before
But who knows where or when
Who knows where or when

From a show my daughter and I saw in 2009:

From the "Heart and Soul" tour he did with Stevie Nicks in 2011.

His autobiography is pretty interesting too.  He spent a lot of time on his hair!

That's all I got for today.  Make sure to check out some of the other #SLS gang.  Pretty great songs out there.  Happy last day of June.  What am I gonna call the blog next month?
