A to Z Challenge - 2020 - Richie

Lionel Richie has been one of my favorites for a long time.  As he says in his act, he's got a song for just about every emotion you can have.  I've listened to him when I was happy and when I was sad.  I've danced to his songs and cried to his songs.  This is from the time we saw him in 2013.  We saw him again in 2017 and Mariah Carey was his opening act.  I wasn't impressed with her, but Lionel was great again.

For the 2013 pictures I went with a set of papers called "Rugged" from Creative Memories with a couple of extras thrown in.  I liked the rough edges and the colors went well with the pictures.

Driving in to the SAP Center we saw the moon.  You know how I am about that thing!  We had seats 10 rows back from the stage.  Almost the closest we've ever had at that venue.  We got some pretty decent chicken strips to share for dinner before the show.  Also, if you look closely you can see the blue gum in my mouth.  I should at least remember to chew white mint if I'm gonna open my mouth with that smile!

I used the Rose Window stencil again.

I used some of the leftover pieces to fill in the blanks.

I'm not sure if I'm finished with this page for good but it came out okay so far.

Here's the set list.  26 songs and he could have gone on longer!  He mixed in some Commodore songs with his own.

How about some "Dancing on the Ceiling?"

Well that's the letter "R."  Do you like Lionel?  Have a favorite song?  Mine is "Lady" which he actually sang with the Commodores.  Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!

November Novelties - 2019 - #SLS All Around The World

Jim has given us the words around/down/sideways/up.  I'm going with Lionel Richie and "All Around the World."

We've seen Lionel Richie twice now and he puts on a great show.  During one part he tells how his songs, "Still, Oh, No and Stuck on You" are sung for lovers in various stages of happiness and sadness.  "When you're sad, who you gonna call?"  Lionel.  "When you're happy, who you gonna call?"  Lionel!  "When you're in love, who you gonna call?"  LIONEL!

Here are the lyrics to "All Around the World"

All Around the World
All around the world
Let's go all around the world
All around the world
Take me all around the world
Give me joy, give me love
Take it all around the world
So much love, love is real
So much life, life is what you feel
It's in your mind, it's in your heart and soul
The time is right, you've just got to know
It's time to let go
All around the world
Let's go all around the world
All around the world
Take me all around the world
Give me joy, give me love
Take it all around the world
I said all around the world
Let's go all around the world
Make a wish, dreams come true
Follow your heart, it is only for you
It's crazy, it's a crazy world
Come to the music, come lose your mind
Follow thw rhythm, don't get left behind

Seeing these pictures from 2013(!) makes me realize that I have SO MANY concerts to do some scrapbooking about.  Really have to make some time to do that.

Have a happy Sunday!

July in Janetville - More 365 Picture Project photos

Another set of pictures from the 365 Picture Project.

#199 - Kitty keeping me company at night.  She usually doesn't want anything to do with me, even though I feed her, but this night she decided that she wanted to hang around a while.  It made moving my legs difficult but I usually read for a bit so it was okay.

#203 - After we did the siding on the house I didn't want to put our old mailbox back up but didn't want to get just any old thing so we searched a bit.  I finally decided that a fancy mailbox was too expensive so we got this one and I plan to put coverings over it during the different holidays and seasons of the year.

#204 - Isn't this a cool picture?  These are solar path lights that we got to line the front walkway.  I love the starburst effect!

#208 - Our new electric garage door!!  We are REALLY excited about this since our old one was ugly and broken.  Now we can get in with the touch of a button.  Things are really starting to come together around here!  It only took 21 years :)

#202 - We went to see Lionel Richie.  It was a good show but not great.  Mariah Carey opened for him and she doesn't really do anything for me.   I love it when I am able to get a shot so it looks like the singer is looking right at me.

#206 - Brandon Crawford's Golden Glove.  We went to a Giant's game with our daughter and her boyfriend and I snapped this of the display.  Pretty neat.  I couldn't pick it up but I bet it's heavy!

Pretty much up to date for now.  I still have to take my selfie for the month but I've got a couple of days.  We have two more concerts this month too - James Taylor on Saturday and Neil Diamond on Sunday.

How are you doing on your summer projects?  Anything exciting happening in your-ville?
